Image Access Solution - JPEG 2000

IAS (Image Access Solution) is offered by ITT as a solution for transfer and processing of large-sized imagery through speed digital data transmission. JPEG 2000, new generation format, which is an international data compression standard (ISO/IEC 15444), is used for data compression by IAS. Compression quality and high maneuvering capability is an advantage of JPEG 2000 if compared with JPEG DCT (Discrete Cosine Transform). Using JPEG 2000 enables IAS to improve memory and processing properties as well as communication system throughput.
JPEG 2000 is based on Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT). The format supports various compression variants: lossy and lossless compression, application of multispectral data.
IAS applies client-server architecture and is composed of two products: IAS Server/Converter and IAS Viewer.
IAS Server/Converter interface is realized with application of Java technology. The interface enables choosing files which will be transformed to JPEG 2000, make file processing waiting lines with specification of various compression algorithms.

IAS Viewer enables previewing images in JPEG 2000. It provides fast data visualization required for various objects recognition and offers main functions for imagery transformation and preview.

Image Access Solution offers an approach based on satellite imagery performance optimization and transfer to long distances through wireless connection as well as visualization.
