Resurs-DK satellite imagery
Resurs-DK was launched on June 15, 2006 aboard Soyuz-U carrier booster from Baikonur Cosmodrome. Resurs-DK is a part of operational space system of detailed electro-optical surface surveillance engineered by the TsSKB Progress (State Research & Production Space Rocket Center).
Depending on specific purposes it can be operated in near-circular or elliptic working orbits with inclinations of 64,8°; 64,9°; 70,0°; 70,4°. Main working satellite orbit is elliptic with an altitude of 360-604 km. Resurs-DK acquires remote sensing data with 1 meter spatial resolution in panchromatic mode (1 channel) and 2-3 meter resolution in 3 narrow spectral bands in multispectral mode.
Together with remote sensing equipment Resurs-DK is fitted with Pamela space research equipment (Italy) and Ariana scientific system (Russia) providing registration of high energy electrons and protons, identification and detachment of bursts of high energy particles of earthquake precursors. In-orbit life time - 3 years.
Resurs-DK satellite imagery applications
- Creation and refreshing of topographical maps and special plans up to 1:5000 scale.
- Assessing and survey of drill site and transportation infrastructure facilities.
- Forest regulation survey, making examination of forest condition.
- Agricultural fields assessing, creation of land use maps and precision farming.
- Topographical background refreshing for the generation of the perspective urban developing layouts and metropolitan region planning diagrams.
- Inventory and monitoring transport, energy and information communications condition.
- Extensively used in environmental protection scope.
