Kompsat-2 satellite imagery
The second Korean multi-purpose satellite Kompsat-2 (Korean Multi-Purpose Satellite 2) was launched on July 28, 2006 aboard Rokot carrier booster from Plesetsk Cosmodrome, Russia.
The satellite was developed by engineers of KARI (Korea Aerospace Research Institute). SpotImage, France got exclusive rights for satellite imagery distribution acquired from Kompsat-2. The satellite was set into sun-synchronous orbit at the height of 685 km. Kompsat-2 acquires digital satellite imagery with spatial resolution of 1m in panchromatic mode and 4m in multispectral mode.
